Points
Each semester, a member of the Ladue chapter of Science National Honor Society must maintain the following:
- 4 meeting points
- 5 service points (all service points must be science related)
*All activities on a points sheet must be signed by an officer or sponsor
Meeting Points
These can be earned by attending bimonthly meetings held by Science National Honor Society.
Potential meeting topics include:
-Orientation sessions for new opportunities
-Informational discussions with local scientists and students
-Delegation to specific science service activities
Service Points
These can be earned by participating and helping out in a variety of science related activities.
The general rule is that 1 hour of service = 1 point
Potential service point opportunities include:
- Tutoring (1 hour = 1 point)
- Helping at Cocoa and Cram
- Coaching middle school Science Olympiad (1 hour = 1 point)
- Science tournaments (each 1 point)
- Grading and lab preparation for science teachers (30 minutes = 0.5 points)
If a member does not fulfill all point requirements, he or she will be put on probation for one semester. In order for a member to become a normal member again, he or she must earn:
- 4 meeting points
- 7 service points (all service points must be science related)

If a member is on probation for more than one semester, he or she is automatically dismissed from Science National Honor Society.
